‘Screen For Life’ breast cancer awareness message is on the move with complimentary mammograms for women in Doha

‘Screen For Life’, Qatar’s National Breast and Bowel Cancer Screening program, has taken the Mobile Screening Unit to the road again for 2018 in its mission to raise cancer awareness and highlight the importance of screening in the early detection of cancer by touring its mobile screening facility around the capital.

The mobile screening unit was at Mesaimeer Health Center for the whole month of January. Visitors to the health center were given an opportunity to learn more about the unit and how it operates, while women between the ages of 45 and 69 where offered complimentary mammograms.

The dedicated mobile screening unit plays a crucial role in the ‘Screen For Life’ efforts and provides screening access to people who can’t easily get access to one of the program’s three fixed facilities at Al Wakra, Leabaib and Rawdat Al Khail Health Centers.
As part of the outreach program, PHCC physicians at all the health centers are referring eligible women for screening. All eligible women in the target age bracket, who have a valid Qatar ID card and Hamad Medical card, can request a screening by calling the ‘Screen For Life’ hotline on 8001112.
